What To Expect
For many of you, going to therapy is a new experience. I commend you for taking the first step towards what will be a rewarding journey. I recognize the unknown can be scary, so below are some answers to common questions. For additional information, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
The Therapy Process
Psychotherapy sessions are fifty minutes long. Prior to our first session, we will have a brief phone call to make introductions and confirm that we will enjoy working together. We will then meet in my office, typically once a week. During the first month, we will establish our relationship and collaboratively create life goals that fit your vision.
During our sessions we will practice using different tools that you will have the opportunity to try out in the office and during your day-to-day interactions. This middle phase of the therapy process is the core component of our work together. Investing your time and energy in this process will help you to reach your goals.
The duration of therapy depends on when you feel like you have created the life you’ve been yearning for, or are well on your way. The timing of this is different for each person.
I do not take insurance. However, you may still be eligible for reimbursement, depending on your policy. If you would like to use your insurance, I will provide you with a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. You may also be eligible for reimbursement if you have a medical spending plan through your employer (i.e. FSA, HSA).
My fee is $225.00. I have limited sliding scale slots available and can make referrals to other therapists and low-fee counseling centers in the area.
I promise that your time in therapy will be a positive experience. I provide a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for you to understand and work through your challenges. My intention is that you walk out of my door well equipped to move forward in your life.
I look forward to speaking with you.
